“All smoke and mirrors,” says the
blonde bombshell. “We do tricks and acrobatics, but at the end you have
to be able to take all of that away, and have it be musically
interesting. Because at the end of the day it’s a rock ’n roll show.”
More than 40 million albums sold worldwide, 19 top 20 hits and three
Grammy Awards show that she meets the gold standard.
She took time out for two years to have a baby. When her daughter, Willow, was one year old, the mother resolved to test herself to the artistic limits once more – to surprise herself at the same time as enchanting audiences. The American superstar wondered how she was going to do a year and a half tour with shows every night, when she had just had a baby and would have preferred to be cuddling her daughter full time. The solution was to resume hard and disciplined training – and take the baby on set when necessary.

Named after her most recent studio album, the concert tour “The Truth About Love” should exceed anything she has achieved in the past. Now 34 years old, the singer wanted to do something spectacular – flaunting her physical perfections through the air, igniting visual fireworks but without losing her closeness to the audience. Pink’s tour of the USA continues till mid-January. She has already proved that she can achieve a theatrical spectacle deserving global acclaim, one that combines aspects of Cirque du Soleil with sheer vocal power.

The audience holds its breath. In a kind of revolving chandelier contraption, Alecia Moore, alias Pink, does aerial gymnastics
accompanied by rope-dancers, sings suspended from a bungee cable, dives
into water and performs on two stages. A grandiose show, with winning
acrobatic turns.
